3. Q : Do rabbits need carrots or lettuce every day in their diet?

A : NO. These days, proper nutrition can be maintained by feeding commercial rabbit pellets and a high quality grass hay. After the age of six months, your bunny can have an occasional treat of carrots, dark green leafy lettuce, or other vegatables. Refrain from iceberg lettuce or and celery (neither has nutritional value).

4. Q : Do male or female rabbits make better pet?

A : There is no real advantages or disadvantages either way. Just pick the color and breed you like. With proper care and love, any bunny will make a great pet. Some bucks (males) will mark their area by spraying - usually if there are other animals around. Having the buck neutered can elinate spraying. Neutering is a simple procedure that is performed by a veterinarian experienced with rabbits.

5. Q : What about my rabbit and other pets?

A : Dogs and cats - for the most part - should be kept apart from your bunny. Two or more rabbits will generally fight as they get older if kept together in the same cage. If two rabbits are within the same household, a neutered male and a spayed female is the best combination.
